Terrot VMS3 cables and controls ....

Message par markfrost »

I am now beginning to reassemble my VMS3 and I need some help understanding the connection of the controls. I took digital pictures but the detail is very poor. I have some of the old cables but they were so rotted as to be of little use. I have had copies made of the throttle, clutch and front brake cables using the rotten old cables as a guide but it is a lot of guessing on length. I have a very stiff wire in a rigid sleeve with a grease point...I think this is the choke, or is this the gear selector? And is there a short cable that runs from the scissor linkage at the base of the preselector mechanism that runs to the gear selector lever?

If any of you have experience and photos of how you put together your control cables I would be very greatful. The engine and gearbox are in great shape, the clutch friction plates need re corking but I think I have a guy who can do that. Does anyone know the type and qualtity of oil to be put into the gearbox? When it came apart there was some dirty thin gear oil in there but I did not measure the quantity.

Thanks for any help!
